Security.As you can see, I am not on a secure server. The issue about Credit Card number use on an unsecured server has been around for sometime and is one that I have spent some time wrestling with. So far, the expense of this service would alter my pricing structure to an unacceptable level. My research indicates that the way the infamous "Hacker" gets your credit card number, is by breaking into a database where it is stored.
Credit card information is stored in a database on a secured server where it can be accessed for legitimate transactions. Most database "break ins" are done utilizing inside information, with the goal being large quantities of CC numbers. At Outback I get CC numbers one at a time, immediately transfer it to paper and delete it from my computer files. Considering the hundreds of e-mail messages I receive (I don't use forms) it would be very unprofitable to attempt to hack incoming e-mail for the chance of a single CC number. I feel safer this way.
